Events include Beatyard ,the Rock n roll half marathon,  the Big Grill festival and hundreds of free events during the National Heritage week. Beatyard 3-5th August 

Beatyard is a fantastic music and arts festival in Dun loaghaire ( just a dart ride away from Isaacs) which features food areas, demonstrations, workshops, markets, a Gamesyard for board games and computer games, Brewtonic Bars dedicated to craft beer whiskey, rum, gin and fine wines, Banteryard with talks, panels and debates, Studioyard with art, design and tech installations, Boatyard with on-water boat parties, Kidsyards with music, games and competitions, not to mention the many exceptional music performers including Little Dragon, Kamasi Washington, the Skatalites, John Talabot, Joy Orbison, I Am The Cosmos, Le Boom, Bad Bones, a DJ set by Modeselektor, and much, much more

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon  11-12th August 2016

This half marathon , 10k and 5 k course highlights the beauty and vibrancy of Dublin. .Local bands and entertainers will provide music every mile along the course. Rock ‘n’ Roll is the theme but there will also be plenty of local flavour to the musicians. A celebratory atmosphere at the finish line includes a free concert and great entertainment, sponsor activities, food vendors and VIP hospitality.

The All-Ireland Gaelic Football championships   August  2018

This uniquely Irish sport of GAA has its home at Croke Park in Dublin and during August the All Ireland championship is in full swing  with the hotly contested super 8  quarter finals and semi finals  finals are in full swing . Whose county and colours will you be waving on match day?

The Big Grill Festival  16-18th August 2018

If you look for good food and amazing flavours you’ll surely find them at The Big Grill festival. It takes place 16-18th August at Herbert Park, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Apart from being able to taste some of the best BBQ’s places in the world, the Big Grill also offers people competitions (mostly extra spicy challenges), craft beer stands (to help you prepare for the last weekend of August), Talks+demos and so much more. National Heritage Week  18-26th August 2018

National Heritage week is week long event with lots of free heritage activities and tours . You can choose from bell ringing tours of  Saint Patrick’s Cathedral for example ,get a free admission in Casino at Marino, and join an Open day at The Georgian Townhouse, Art talks and tours, etc. If you are interested in Irish history and heritage get your fix here
